There was a time when the fishermen of Calella de Palafrugell used to gather in a tavern to sing “habaneras” and drink rum. Years later, the same fishermen and other villagers would gather to enjoy one of the most exquisite products the Mediterranean provides: sea urchins. The popularity of both these gatherings still persists today and people from all over the world come to Calella de Palafrugell to participate in the “Habaneras” (popular cuban music festival) and the “Garoinadas” (sea urchin food festival). These traditions connect the pas with the present, a bond we replicate in our hotel rooms.
